Foundation Subscription Structure Update (Effective July 1, 2026)

Overview

Starting July 1, 2026, we transitioned to a new subscription structure for hospitals participating in the myBalto Foundation. This update was built from hospital feedback and designed to help hospitals raise more donations while keeping costs predictable.

What changed (and why)

Historically, we offered a free option and a connected PIMS option. Over time, we saw a clear trend: hospitals that invested in their fundraising tools and stayed actively engaged consistently raised significantly more each year.

This new structure is meant to:

·      Encourage consistent fundraising participation

·      Put more of every donation back into your Angel Fund

·      Keep the program aligned with the myBalto Guarantee so there’s no real financial risk when the minimal requirements are met

Previous structure (before July 1, 2026)

Hospitals previously had two options:

·      Free plan: No PIMS connection required; hospitals could use our online donation services at no cost

·      Connected PIMS plan: $500–$1,000/year depending on the number of doctors at the hospital

We also deducted 10% from donations received.

New structure (effective July 1, 2026)

1) Lower donation deduction

We reduced our donation deduction from 10% to 6%, so your hospital keeps more from every generous donation.

2) Subscription required (monthly or annual)

We removed the free plan and now offer subscription pricing based on when your hospital first met with our team.

Legacy pricing (most hospitals asking are legacy)

Your hospital qualifies as a legacy hospital if you met with us before May 4, 2026.

·      $500/year or $50/month

Ongoing subscription pricing

If your hospital met with us on or after May 4, 2026, you are eligible for our ongoing subscription:

·      $750/year or $75/month

If a legacy hospital chooses not to subscribe

Legacy hospitals that do not adopt the legacy subscription can:

·      Keep their account open

·      Have their PIMS disconnected

·      Continue using existing Angel Fund funds until their balance reaches $0

Once the balance reaches $0, we can deactivate the account.

Important: donation services will be disabled without a subscription

If a hospital does not subscribe, they will be unable to accept donations through MyBalto services, including:

·      Donation website

·      Donations at checkout

·      Partner donations (with very rare exceptions)

·      Vending machines

·      Email subscription services

Closing an account early

If a hospital would like to close their account before their balance reaches $0, direct them to:

Why this is still a better financial option

This structure is designed to be financially favorable for hospitals:

·      You keep more per donation (6% deduction vs. 10%)

·      Subscription pricing supports consistent fundraising success

·      You still have the myBalto Guarantee behind what we do

The myBalto Guarantee (no real financial risk)

As long as your hospital fulfills the three minimal requirements of the myBalto Guarantee, there is no real financial risk.

Example:

·      If a legacy hospital subscribes for $500/year and raises $400 in donations after one year, we will reimburse $100 so the hospital is not losing money by working with us.

Bottom line

At worst, your hospital has a no-risk Angel Fund that allows pet owners to donate and supports a self-run Angel Fund without compliance concerns.

At best, your hospital can generate thousands of dollars each year to support patients in need.
